Still looking for that magical Companion to Cabbage plants that I can intersperse and get some harvest from my brassicas.

I had a fellow request some gem marigolds from me, and he got back to me this spring and said he had planted them between his potato plants. I guess he has a big problem with potato beetles, and he's a senior gardener so this has been a long problem to him. Well well, first year he said - NO BEETLES! Haha, so maybe try the gem marigolds. I love 'em, smelly smelly smelly. But those cabbage worms are ferocious, I don't know if the gems would do it.

Haha, no virtue signalling from over here ducks () @catjac1975 's BT cabbage spray is naturally derived too, so similar to neem. lol I'm just plain old lazy when it comes to mixing up bottles of stuff. I'd have to want that veggie REAL bad to have to do more work that regular weeding and watering.

BY is a bio insecticide derived from soil, and has been in use since the 50's. So easy to use.

So you buy it in a form ready for application, no mixing manually in bottles?

No I mix it. a tablespoon in a spray bottle. I do not understand your aversion to mixing with the reward of no cabbage loopers on your Brassicas. Actually they do sell it pre-mixed in a bottle.

I guess because I've mixed so many bottles with neem over the years, and it's so messy to work with. Waxy at room temperature, wrecks the plastic bottles, doesn't spray well if not freshly prepared each time. And I guess I'm not that big a fan of cabbage, I really do prefer kale and it's pretty free of pests naturally.

I can agree with both camps on the neem thing. It does work well but it’s not my favorite product to use.
Several years ago i found this stuff which is actually a more highly refined neem. Still not my favorite thing to use because i dont care for the smell but it’s a whole lot easier to use than the regular neem products.

I already priced the concentrated organic BT. Affordable locally.
Btw, anybody here grow microgreens?
Brassica seeds are in the packages that I picked up from Dollar General in September on super sale and I want to start them soon inside.

It is so cheap to use. I only buy liquid concentrates.
