Oh well, I lost! Will harvest zucchini this week and have green tomatoes but not ripe. Congratulations and good eating!

Gosh I didn't know there was a race .... I harvested several (4) 8-Ball Squash week before last, and will be picking several zucchini later today.
And I ATE my first ripe tomato this morning, right off the vine!

And, I should add, we've been eating spinach, kale, chard, and radish from the garden for 2 weeks.

You know what else is good for vine borers? I'll give you a hint: It's short, waddles, and quacks.

How so? The moth (looks like a wasp with a red abdomen) flies at night and lays the eggs, which then hatch and burrow into the vine.
