This morning I noticed just a blush of color beginning on this berry!
In a few weeks I should be able to make a strawberry shortcake!!

Ahh, what a lovely sight. I am afraid I'm 4 or 5 months from strawberry shortcake- but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! Enjoy!

I'm envious! I did get some seeds, but they're more of a shoots 'n' giggles kind of thing. I'm just going to plant them and hope to goodness that the hoodlem neighbor kids don't tear into them.

Beat it sister! :smack :tongue
Some of us, like us here in New England are still seeing some snow and wearing winter coats and the only ripe strawberries I see are the ones in pictures, as in the garden catalogs that I sit and read by my fire because its too cold to go outside and aren't you just special with your nearly ripe strawberry :rant

I mean, uh Yea! Wow, good for you, really your strawberries look great. I mean... ya know, I am.... so, so happy for you :hit

I too am rather jealous. Mostly because we decided not to grow strawberries this year. Now, as I see yours beginning to ripe I'm having second thoughts.

Maybe it's not too late... :fl

I am extremely jealous. But I was lucky enough to see new growth on our strawberries the other day... fresh green leaves is a good sign!

Stupid snow though... I didn't think it would stick like this so early. :(

Yeah, I have family in Virginia and Ohio that are still under snow! Of course my Aunt from VA is spending the next two months in CA!!
