Hi, this is my first post here, on a recommendation from a backyardchickens moderator.
I'd like to start producing micro greens for local grocery stores and my chickens. Kindly provide feedback on my initial setup. This is in Ohio Zone 6/5b. Thank you!

Sounds like a cool plan! I make micro greens for myself year around!

Like @flowerbug, i see no sprouts but i do see a lot of seeds in 3 trays.

A little googling will produce numerous helps for setting up a viable operation. If that were my operation i’d mow to reclaim that wilderness and plumb the shed for water, even just a garden hose as your’ gonna do a bunch of rinseing. If you intend to market the produce, you’ll need to consider packaging as well, and refrigeration.

a few sprouts for personal use is easy enough but will take some time and careful monitoring; on a grand scale as in “selling to the public” it’s a lot bigger commitment.

good luck with that.

Welcome! BYC and TEG are great communities!

Your sprouting setup looks pretty good to me! I've wanted to sprout more stuff (like wheat) for my chickens when there isn't any greenery around for them.

Sounds like a cool plan! I make micro greens for myself year around!
I've been doing the same! Bought some alfalfa and broccoli seeds to sprout in Mason jars!

Those sprouts are so easy to grow and so good on sandwiches, tacos, or with anything you might want to use lettuce!
