Good question I've been wondering that myself. If so... what month do you put them in the ground for a fall harvest?

That's usually the only time I ever have planted potatoes. We usually plant them in late November or December and have potatoes by early spring.

Keeping them well mulched to protect against freeze is very important.

I think in northern latitudes that you can plant some time around mid-summer for a fall harvest.

Thanks, I was wondering because my Mom had an accidental fall crop a couple of years ago. They grew in her compost pile. Of course they stayed nice and warm there all winter. LOL. I just thought maybe I would try my luck with them this fall. I have never actually grown potatoes and it looks fun to do.
