I have read the boards over the last week or so and i have been very impressed with the information. But heres my problem, i have lost half of my Better Boy Tomato plants due to blight. When the first couple brown leaves showed up i just thought it was natural Die off. But literally in a week it spread over half the plants. The tomato plants are both 4ft tall and it seems the tomatoes have stunted.

With that being said the brown spots are also starting to show up on my beefsteak tomato plants. Not very severe but the plants are just now starting to flower. They are about mid thigh high (im 6'4"). I havent seen anything in the rest of the garden, i have Spacemaster 80 Cucumbers, Watermelon, Big Max, and Goldrush Pumpkins. Should i be worried about it spreading???

pendog66, :welcome!
Sorry about your tomatoes. :( Have you had a lot of rain, lately? Are they sitting in a part of the garden that pools? You know you can STILL get some fruit from them. You might try mulching them--you can use grass clippings. The mulch put thickly around their base with prevent watering and rain from splashing on their leaves. Hope this helps! :hugs
Anybody else?

We are going through a mini drought right now but last two months we've had close to 10 inches of rain total. The plants are actually on the up hill side of the garden, i had issues with erosion when the plants were still small

:welcome Seems most of us are plagued with one sort of tomato problem or another.

Chris09 is that something that I can buy locally or on-line only.

Welcome to TEG, pendog66 :frow

A friend grows Better Boys every year and is very happy with them. I don't know about their vulnerability to blight but I've had what I thought was early blight take every Beefy Boy planted out of production before they ripened a single fruit. Meanwhile, a half dozen other varieties were hardly affected.

There are some blight resistant varieties. I'm growing Legend again in the garden this year - it is supposed to be resistant.

ShowMe31, Bonide makes a copper dust. Any garden center that carries Bonide products probably has it.
