My dad was told by repair shop his mower could not be fix parts are impossible to get. Mower from early 60s maybe late 50s :hu Every spring he had it serviced, guy died. New guy work on it . All summer run rough stalled out. Dad replace spark plug now willnt even start. Was told to junk can not be fixed.

Guessing 2 things. Spark plug is not gapped correctly and/or wire being old and brittle may have broken. Running uneven sounds like a plugged gas filter. Could also be a dried out gaskets. All very easy to fix by a mechanic-& cheap.

I wish I could tell you where to take it to get it done. I know the feeling.

Best suggestion is find an antique farm club. They would know.

Do any high schools in your area have summer shop classes? Or, a small engine repair course at a local college/vo-tech would probably love to be able to use it for practicing on. Get their hands dirty and what not.
