The thing is you need a 2 pronged approach. Money from those run away corporations is what fuels the actions of politicans. Lobbyists, campaign donations, and a host of other things I'm sure Ill never know about since I won't ever run for office are the grease that often allows these kinds of things to happen. Not that its the only way, but its often talked about but never "official".
So if you eliminate the political figures that allow these things to happen you've made a change. Then to further drive the measure home you stop buying products from companies that push for these kinds of deregulation or lack of regulation and they lack the finances to influence the new heads of office.
Yes its an oversimplification but it can make a difference.
On a lighter note I'm a Paramedic and I have ZERO interest in eating an organ that is a filter. Let alone a diseased filter organ. I eat a lot of things but that's just one of those that I just can't make the mental leap.
