Leaving the clippings on the lawn no matter where you live and how often you have to mow is a good idea. The trick is to never tale off more than a third of the blade at each mowing. Cutting more than a third of the blade stresses and stunts the roots. The clippings supply nutrients like you said, and encourage lots of earthworms and other macro and micro organisms.Stubbornhillfarm said:We leave our lawn clippings on the lawn. Edited to say: We don't have to mow our lawn as often as our friends in other climates do. Thus our mow it and let it sink in method. I am sure it is very different when you have to mow your lawn often.
