Going with janetnjim's thread idea.

What/Will you be giving as gifts from your harvest?

Does it go as is, or does it get spruced up a bit?

Do you have homemade gifts that go with it all?

I'm planning on lavender jelly, lavender goat's milk soap and knitting a couple of wash clothes to go with it all for Christmas presents.
The milk came from our goat (lost her this spring).

If we go out for Thanksgiving, I take along a jar of harvest spice peaches and pickles. If not, they grace our table.

I'm picking up small baskets this year for them all. Thanksgiving, I just show up with the jars. Garden twine with labels, simple but suits what it is. I did buy a case of the fancy jars for the jelly.
In years past (the really skinny ones) they've just gone as is, didn't hear anyone complaining either. ;)

Wash clothes for the soap and I have terry cloth that I'll be turning into hand towels to wrap the baskets in. I usually have a couple of people that get a pair of socks as well.

Homemade jams and jellies

I going to start looking for baskets to put it in, a Christmas hand towel in the bottom of the basket, a loaf of homemade bread with a jelly knife.

That's it

This is my first year with the BIG garden & canning. My DH & I are planning on giving as many homemade gifts as possible. We're going to give honey & candles from the bees. I'm going to give herbal tea, salsa, pickles, and probably bread or muffins with my pumpkins (if they make it :fl).

I usually give a loaf of homemade bread and a jar of jam in a nice basket. I mad those for all of my kids' teachers last year and they were so appreciative. I'm hoping to get some blackberry jam made later this week.

I plan on making apple butter and making scones to go with them in a basket. I'll probably put in a jar of jam as well as a bag of cookies that I make for the holidays. I love to bake and I really love to bake Christmas cookies. I usually start right after Thanksgiving. My DH knows to leave room in the freezer for the cookies and dough, or else. :p

Buckets of refrigerator pickles and homemade salsa, canned homemade salsa and applesauce, frozen berries, jams, jellies, pesto, homemade zucchini, summer squash and pumpkin breads. I use these all for family birthdays, school bake sales and gifts for my CSA customers.
