Just heard on the news that snow is expected and temps might get down into the 30s (last frost date was the 15th! Why doesn't mother nature read the almanac!!!!).
:duc :he :th

Ok-deep breath.........

The plants that I can't bring in are all in covered growers. I have read about putting votive candles inside the growers, and DH is picking some up as we speak.

Any other tips???:barnie

Darn!!! We've got frost on tap for the next few nights, too. Since your plants are already covered, I would just add something light right over the actual plants. My cold frames are covered with a glass window and they have done fine through the frost... Spring is coming, I think!

Now, upstate NY, I can understand.....but NM and northern TX (and surrounding areas) have had some crazy weather patterns, this year.
Just imagine how bad it would be if it weren't for global warming.

The day started off fairly strange here. A storm moved in from the southeast. We all but never have storms from the southeast.

The high temperature yesterday was 19F cooler than the day before. That probably doesn't sound like much to Colorado folks or maybe even on the upper Rio Grande but it kind of portended something unusual was happening here.

I noticed that a storm moving out of Nevada just touched the Bay Area . . . How often does rain from the desert of Nevada fall in San Francisco Bay . . ?

You can use sticks or lawn chairs to prop up old bedsheets to cover plants; cardboard boxes also work well, for plants that are not too large for 'em.

Good luck,

Pat, who had hard frost last night and our usual *last* frost on this property is not generally until the first week in June :p

My hubby is at Ft. Sam Houston right now and he did say that it was a little cool there. I just laughed at him.

And it's no longer global warming it's climate change.

Yeah, we see some thunderstorm warnings... but that appears to all right now. I don't like the fact its 60 right now... but so is life!

Heading outside to plant some poppies, cosmos and lettuce. I don't want to miss out on mother natures free water! :p
