I think it's the Weather Service's zone forecast.

http://www.weather.gov/ -- type in the name of your community and click Go.

Just click on the map and wait a moment of the green square to appear about in your neighborhood. That will be on the page with your zone forecast.

I know, they say 41°f by tomorrow morning. Weather Underground says 39° .... chilly! I'll be checking about 4am.

I think your forecast is about like mine.
Tonight
Mostly cloudy. A 20 percent chance of rain showers in the evening. Patchy fog overnight. Lows in the upper 30s to lower 40s. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph with gusts to around 20 mph in the evening...becoming light. :thThank you.

It's 38°f at 3:30 in one garden.

Or, about 2 miles away, at the Weather Underground volunteer's thermometer ...

Now comes the moment of thought while I decide if that temperature suggests a frost by 5 and, therefore, the need to climb in the pickup and get out there to turn the sprinklers on. The last few days, the thermometer has fallen 3° or 4° between 3am and sunrise.

One hour later and the temperatures at both locations ..

. had gone UP 1° !

Moved in the right direction and held at 39°. We are now officially past sunrise, although there is no level horizon.

No doubt, it has been a stressful time for some of the plants. Messed up - too much wind and cold the last 24 hours. It's forecast to be a milder weather day then, rain.

I do it backwards. I should do like you and go to bed and get up at the time something needs to be done, but I stay up flapping arms and worrying and wondering what to do. I put the tomatoes and basil in the sawhorse and left the flowers out. The temperature at one location dropped to 37, but 2 other places dropped to 41 and then went back up slightly and this was around 1:30 in the morning. I stayed up until 2:30 and decided to go to bed.
