:) I bet that was a workout!, you have a lot of plants to be bringing them all inside. But at least they will be safe inside in case frost threatens. I have my plants in my dining room as well it was a chilly day today i was watching them like a hawk.

Yes, I have gotten a little carried away. I keep finding more stuff I want to try...in fact I bought somemore seeds today!!!

Once the first seed sprouted, I was hooked!

Well, I finally got them all moved in...it seems like alot more coming back in than when it went out!!!!!!!!
Here is a photo of my dining room right now. You can't see the plants under the table, on the bench, the otherside of the table, and the overflow that is in the kitchen!

That was a workout! :weight

Yep...I'd say that you DEFINITELY need spring time.

Yep, we all get a little carried away, its gardening.
Its the same way with me, keeping planting a lot of seeds and plants. Gardening is addicting but oh so worth it and very fun :tools :watering .

Enjoy!

That photo looks like my utility room back when I didn't have a furnace in the greenhouse!

I'd cover then floor and appliances with plastic film, and start hauling them in! Oh, desperate measures for desperate times . . . Stay with it, Christie ;)!

Warmth has finally found my neck of the woods! The dire prediction of mid-20's for Wednesday morning has been changed to high 30's! I've got nothing in the garden that would be in any danger, anyway (altho' my onions, shallots, spinach & lettuce are up :)).

Planted about 100 dahlia roots today . . .

digits,
Shouldn't you wait untill the weather really warms up some more before putting in dahlias? I don't think they would like that very cool or frosty weather.

They have been on the floor of a room in my basement, Greenthumb. The air temperature in that room sometimes fall below 40F during the winter. Right now, my soil is, at least, 45. By the time they make it above ground (and it will take them awhile), we should be past the danger of overnight frost. The dahlia roots have been complaining about too many months in peatmoss ;).

I just thought I'd post some weather sites:

You probably all know about: NOAA
Then there's: The Weather Channel.
AccuWeather : is pretty good.
Because they tap into NOAA's remote sites and have a bunch of volunteers with weather stations, I like: The Weather Underground.
The Canadians have their government office and probably all know about this one but they give the forecasts for US cities, too: The Weather Network
An old weather guy told me about this one but I hadn't looked at it for several months. They will give long-range forecasts: HamWeather.

I try to maintain this idea that I can effect the weather by paying close attention to it . . . :D

Steve
edited to add: "at least" . . .

Iam so glad I carried all them plants in...29 F in the greenhouse this morning.
All my plants are happy and cozy. Now I need to decide..do I move them out for the day and back in tonight (low expected 34F) or just leave them in till tomorrow???

What would you all do?

I realized at 3 a.m. that I had not zipped up the mini-greenhouse that I'm using, so I threw on some shoes & went out to close up shop. It definitely got down below freezing last night because there was frost on the ground, so I"m really happy I did that. My seedlings are all looking happy this morning. :)
