Fire blight affects both apples and pears. It is hosted by the galls that grow on what we call red cedar, but, to add to the confusion red cedars aren't cedars but junipers. Any of the juniper family can host fire blight.

You might be thinking of cedar apple rust So Lucky. It's hosted by cedar trees and infects apples.

Pyracantha is also very susceptible to fireblight.

Just remember if you cut any blighted stems or limbs from an infected tree to sterilize your clippers with alcohol after every cut.
