I use a big muck bucket for weeding and deadheading. I used to use those rectangular storage bins, but I lean on them getting up and down and they crack after a few weeks of that kind of abuse. I found these awesome muck buckets at the feed store and they were only $12 apiece. They're so heavy duty they will probably outlast me. I love them so much I now own....6! I didn't realize how many I actually had...

But I keep 2 in my truck for work. They're also really great for plunging potted plants in to hydrate before planting. And 2 hold water for the kids to bucket out for their garden.
Gee. I sound like a muck bucket commercial.

My compost pile is right by the garden, so everything goes there. No floppy hat for me either. I need the sun to maintain my redneck status ;) Of course Dew is always volunteering to put sunscreen on the top of my head...and always chuckling when she does :\

And yeah, I pointed out the typo. After a long hot day in a stuffy mobile home, I needed a good laugh, and the start of this thread did the trick.

I don't do hats...they make my head hot and sweatier than it already is while working out in the sun. Mom does hats of various kinds for different jobs.

I wear the most paint and oil spattered, stained up old clothing one would ever see when I'm laboring outside...most people wouldn't even use them for rags! :D

In fact, my two "best" work shirts have gotten so gross looking that I've taken to wearing them wrong side out to make them look better....a good work shirt is hard to find.... at least, the kind I like.

Shorts...only slightly less repugnant looking than my shirts.

Shoes? Old tennis shoes, loosely tied so I can slip my feet in them without pausing.

No hat...got too much hair the way it is, no need for more weight up there.

Nyboy...any chance we could get a pic of your glorious garden chapeau? :D
