Hi TEG Friends!

As some of you know, I own the very dead site https://www.landscapingforums.com/

It's a bit of a paint to maintain a dead forum, but I'm adamantly against deleting historical content people posted.

That being the case, and after much discussion and deliberation, I've decided it's best to import the data from that forum into a sub-section of TEG.

So, you'll soon see a whole new section soon :)

There will be a little dust / cleanup to do with the imported data, so I appreciate your patience!

Once the sections and threads/posts are imported, I'd love your thoughts and feedback on how to organize the sections. If we merge them, move threads, etc. etc. etc.

Thanks again for being a great community!

Ok, y'all can see the newly imported section here:

Feedback welcome!
I think it’s a great idea. Thoughtful to save people’s historic content. Will the members who still use it be able to find it in its new location? (Or by dead, do you mean there are no users to even care?)

One thing I’ve noticed just from perusing it for a few minutes is that it seems to be a free advertising magnet. For instance here is a person you can probably just delete their whole data. They only ever posted links to their website: https://www.theeasygarden.com/members/martinrichard817.17566/

I suppose thats the kind of thing you’re referring to about dusting and cleanup. If you deleted the accounts that were nothing but spam it would probably clean it up a lot.

Another thing that might be useful is to delete any threads that got 0 replies. There were some nice thoughtful questions, but when there are no answers there doesn’t seem to be any point to keeping them.

I will say, it’s been interesting to read through some new stuff.

i may not get to them any time soon, but if they are a good question i'd say leave them there and perhaps i'll get a whack at them some day when i can... :) or others may beat me to it. heehee...

Yes to both :) Most users have moved-on, but if they come back (and we hope they do), they will be redirected.

Yup, part of the cleanup! Please report anything suspicious and @TEG Project Manager @Support will take care of it quick!

Exactly!

It doesn't really "hurt" anything to leave the old questions, so that's our plan for now.
