On the radio this morning a study was done in England. Study showed people do not want to hear Christmas music before Thanksgiving. I wonder how much money was spent on this study ?
There are all kinds of studies out there, you wonder who paid for them. One I remember from decades ago was that if someone is waiting for a parking spot in the mall, on average it takes a few seconds longer for people to empty it than if they don't see anyone waiting. The reason I remember it is that morning I had a guy get into his pick-up and start trimming his nose hairs while glancing at me in his side mirror. I hope my laughing at him didn't upset him too much. I'd already dropped the wife and kids off at the mall and was in not hurry to join them. I'd have been happy to ait 15 minutes for that space.
I believe that study. I've also heard that a constant barrage of Christmas music even after Thanksgiving can affect some people's mental health in a bad way. The radio station I often listen to when driving around town switches to an all-Christmas music format after Thanksgiving. I look for a different station or play my own music.
Edited to add: I wonder how many of these weird studies are just some college kid's thesis for an advanced degree. Nobody is really paying for them.

PONDERABLE
"Narcissist: psychoanalytic term for the person who loves himself more than his analyst; considered to be the manifestation of a dire mental disease whose successful treatment depends on the patient learning to love the analyst more and himself less."

"Captain of the barnyard, he was charmingly forgivable. Muntz spent a good deal of his time in endeavoring to mask, under a cloak of paranoia and insults, a really remarkable combination of malevolence and imbecility." ~ Norman Douglas
