NwMtGardener, my garden is 120 sq. ft. and has lots of veggies also. I pack as much as I can! I must be practicing the square foot gardening without even trying!
I'll be honest. I was starting to resent my DH bc I've been doing all of the gardening work. To his credit, I can bend and stretch, dig and plant, and he's kinda past that. SOOO..... I bought him this...
Now, my DH has become my "HARVESTER." He can sit on his harvest wagon, a "Garden ATV" as the box calls it.
Tonight he'll be harvesting from my salad garden, cutting lettuces and probably some of my first radishes. He's already been cutting on the spinach I planted last fall and covered last winter.
Im just over 2,000sq and yes Id love to have another 1,000sq I won't lie. Id do watermelons and a pumpkin patch, and potatoes there. Mama Id be looking at some hot fence if I was you to keep the critters out.
I'd have to have a good ole tractor, a good ole wagon for it to haul, a PTO on it for post pounding, auger digging and stuff, and at least a small backhoe on it. Oh, and a good ole pickup truck to haul the harvests in to town, oh, and a seed storage and packing shed, because it'd be mainly a seed company.
Yes, I want more garden also but know my body doesn't always hold out to do what I have. The old half dozen discs in the spine bulging out of place makes for some painful days but I still want a few more rows of melons, etc. I haven't ventured to tell my husband yet. We will see how much room is left next Saturday after Mom gets the rest of her stuff sowed. THEN, I might have to ask for him to plow a few more rows. I love not having to go to the grocery store and buy veggies, fruit, etc. I usually only buy meat this time of year and when we harvest about 30 chickens this spring I won't have to do too much of that.
