Bob's winter rain comes here as . .

. winter snow.

The areas nearer the coast are having an unusually dry summer, however. Seattle, which should have gotten about 3/4" of July rain had a trace. Portland should have had over 1/2", shared that same trace . . .

Last week's rain really amounted to something around here because it got caught in that "spiral thing" - crossing and re-crossing the Rockies. Usually, we just have to be happy with whatever Portland/Vancouver allows to slip past and before it bootlegs across the northern border.

We've had drought in August for as long as I can remember (or at least what is considered drought in VA), but this year we're 4" over the norm already and calling for more rain every day this week...
I'm REALLY hoping this isn't hinting at what is to come this winter.
