Another idea is something similar to what is on BYC for "where am I, where are you" but instead of by state or city, do it by region? That way all the people in similar climates could discuss what they have success planting and when they plant it.

I think that sounds great! And make "zone 4 and colder" its own region irrespective of geography. please?? :D

Good suggestions! I'm taking the feedback along with our research and adding that to Reinbeau's great list and hope to be able to come up with a good organization soon. It will be hard to make it perfect, but the goal is to not have too many or too few (I personally don't like forums with hundreds of categories... makes my head spin).

I agree! Logical categories make things so much easier to navigate. Like I said before, I'm not going to cry if you don't use my suggestions, I was just trying to keep things in a bit of order, hopefully it'll make your job a bit easier.
