does anyone know how to germiante australian natives or any tree

There is a whole range of cold weather eucalyptus from your mountain area that are not available in the US. I wish they were. Some of them would do well in our northern states and are quite attractive.

I'm not familiar with either of those specific trees. As for the kurragong, I found this link that should help. It did not say how deep to plant the seeds, but I find that about 3 times the diameter is usually about right. From that article it sounds like they should sprout real well. I could not tell how hot the water should be to break the dormancy. It said to soak them in boiled water, not boiling water. It does not make sense that they would want you to sterilize your water first, so I would guess that it needs to start out pretty hot.

Best I can tell, that yellow bark you are talking about is the willow tree that they get quinine from to fight malaria. If it is a willow, an easy way is to start from cuttings. Lop off a small branch and keep it in water or stick it directly into the ground where you want it to grow and keep the soil damp until it takes root.

If you can determine department of the NSW government put out that article on kurragong, they probably have pretty good information on propogating other trees in your area.

Good luck!
