Durgan, you've convinced me! I'm going to start some seedlings today. A local grower I know starts her tomatoes right after Christmas to sell at farmer markets. Will let you know how I do!

Thanks
Mary

I am going to wait until about the 15 of February to start the tomato plants. I only need about 25 plants. Am now selecting the variety. I am in Zone 5 and cannot place in the outdoor garden until the end of May.

My west facing windows are excellent for starting seeds and growing plants. I think bottom heat is the best for seed starting success. There are many low cost matts available. I have some expensive ones too and they have lasted many years.

Durgan, I don't have any south facing windows that I could use. The only one where I could put a small table in front of, is stained glass. Actually, I don't have any windows where I could place them. What do you recommend?

Mary
