Watching CNN. There is the usual news anchor standing outside in the snow talking about how bad it is and how bad it's going to be. We get the same thing in hurricanes. There is always some unfortunate idiot standing on the seawall in Galveston with an umbrella blown backwards telling us how bad it is. The news media is having a wonderful time with ya'lls misery. At least they'll shut up about politics for a few days.

We're somewhere around 12" now and still coming down. More on the way tomorrow. Kinda hard to measure for all of the blowing wind and snow drifts.

Eating snowcream and watching the Minions movie. :)

We only look to have 6 in. here so far and the snow has slowed down a good bit, so we may not get what they predicted at all in this part of the state.

looks like we ended up with about 4-5" snow/sleet.. at least theres dry snow below all that sleet which will make it easier to shovel..

We've got a foot and it's still pouring down, so very, very lovely out there. Very little wind, so the snow is flocking all the trees and surfaces quite nicely. When it gets too heavy, we may lose our power here but we are well prepared for that, so it doesn't ruin the beauty of it all for me.

Other than the dogs and birds, I'll be the first one out in it!!!! :weee

We put a metal roof on the house, intending to put a roof over the stairs, but haven't put it up yet. The snow coming off the roof , 12X12 pitch, wiped the railing off the right side of the stairs, as you walk down, as smoothly as if it were cream.

That's one problem with metal roofs. At least you weren't standing under the eave when the snow gave way.

That happened to me last year. I stood under the eave and slammed the garden shed door. That caused the snow the avalanche over my shoulders and back. Not enough for me, I saw that the door had bounced back open so I slammed it again. This time on my head as well.

No camera when I needed it.
