It is ether snowing or about to snow this year. Our lower corrals, some 70-80 miles east, are a couple miles from a lake that was very down. Water from the melting snow here goes to Nevada. Looking forward to see what's going on with that lake, with all this snow and rain at lower levels.

Nola is cute! She and Wren seem very similar. I gave her a basketball last year because I thought she would have fun herding it around. It's a big one and she's so little that there's no worry about her popping it, but it only serves to frustrate her because she can't get ahold of anything on it to bring it back so she just herds it farther and farther out in the woods. I had to put it away and give her one of the horses little Jolly Balls. That she can haul around by the handle and it's big enough not to get lost in the snow.

Little bit of snow here, but it's the first snow of the season! :) I'm the only one here that is happy about it, lol.

Love the horses. They may like the snow, but the wind is usually what has them facing away.

We're snow free right now -- other then the frozen ice pack from three weeks ago. Any snow that falls now will turn into drifts with the slightest of wind since the snow blows across the ice so easily. What fun! Winter in Wisconsin. It's 6 below zero and my BFF2 is taking her grandson skiing today. Of course, the high will be well into the 5 degrees (F) above zero range when they start zipping downhill.

I love this winter! It is warm and my greens in the hoop house are still alive, but somehow the snow is quite dry and fluffy. Great cross-country skiing right out of the back door.
Of course, winter isn't over yet, but so far......

you have to love when you check 2 different weather sites and they very so differently... this Friday and Saturday..

the weather channel says 3-5" of snow each day.. FRI 32/27... SAT 35/27
the nws says 1/2" to 3/4" of snow Friday and Saturday a mix of snow and rain mix 90%... FRI 35/31... SAT 37/25
with those temps going to fill the bathtub just in case there is any ice build up.

either way you look at it the supermarkets are going to have a run on beer, bread and milk...
