I've grown the Asian melons but not an Ananas type. The Asian I tried ripened but were not very flavorful or sweet.
Dove:
"a white fine-fleshed netted muskmelon that develops considerable sweetness along with a hint of spiciness in summer heat."
Ananas types are still Cucumis melo .
I wonder if the Galia is somehow related even tho looking like a honeydew, inside.
