Philadelphia also has them along the streets. I don't understand why they put them in. They get so large and they have such a small spot. And the leaves and they better be male....Just don't understand why cities do that....
The San Diego Intl. airport (Lindbergh Field) has them lining the roads on both sides. They're huge and make a beautiful avenue, especially in the fall.
I just don't think there are very many around here. Maybe in St Louis. They must be too "new fangled" for this small town.
If I plant one, I will be sure to get a male.
My neighbor in Illinois had one and when you step and squish the very ripe fruit on the ground that's when you smell it. It is hard to get out of your shoes.
