Believe it or not, for what this is worth .... I have NO beef with God. I was born and raised as a Roman Catholic and still am. I had to scratch out a living through scrounging the countryside , hunt and find any job that I could. I paid for every penny of my College education. I worked at a major University Veterinary Teaching Hospital with virtually every foreign PHD candidate student as well as professors from many countries on this earth with every race and religion known to man including some atheists. I was involved with some of the original research in DNA testing for parentage testing in animals including humans. While attending the Catholic student Newman center at our Catholic Church ... over the years TWO of the priests left the priesthood (continued their College educations, became University professors , married and had children ) because they in good conscience could not continue their Sunday preaching as they found too many inconistanies, omissions and contradictions in new versions from the old to the new Bible all this by fallable man. I met my wife through the Newman center. The short answer is no ! The Old and New "Testament was written by scribes based on verbal accounts by prophets and / or apostles and what was told by them to others and often included their personal recall of memory ,since man is fallable after all, so some room for error. Followed by revisions that suited their points of view at that time, then followed by the Morman revision. As for God writing the ten commandments onto stone tablets himself...all we really have is the faith that Moses said so after he came down the Mountain where he spent the time alone with God himself. A Priest ( not the two that left the priesthood) said to a group of us at the Newman center was... all we really have is the faith that the Bible is the writen word of God by others.
