Poot Eva!! She was occcasionally wheezing, and stinky, DD's took her to a dog wash a few weeks ago, Eva had lost some weight, Vet out yesterday. Vet checked for fleas, 2 dead ones, so Seresto Collar, end of it's season, has been working.
Vet checked positive for fleas on the cats.
We bought expensive topical flea medicine. DD applied to Eva and 4/5 cats, done for the winter now.
Prognosis?
Not feeding Eva enough food!! :th:hit:hit:hit
Easy fix, multiples meals/day with fish oil.
Funny, DH had been prescribed over the counter fish oil. Bottle never opened.
Vet tried to use sliced cheese to feed it to her. Took 3 pieces to get the pill down the gullet..
I was up at 4AM, cut open a capsule of fish oil on top of an egg. Eva ate the egg, ate the capsule, and licked up the fish oil that has been spilled on the floor.
Mid morning Eva ate some hamburger based leftovers with another capsule of fish oil. Cleaned it all up.
I think I can handle this.
Sweetest Eva never complained.
I am a horrible dog owner!!! :hit:hit:hit

...

when reading this somehow my brain removed the comma and inserted an "I" before the 2nd "ate". of course i knew something wasn't quite right with that and reread and laughed at myself.
