Went to a national dog show with DD yesterday, it was a great time and we got to talk to many of the handlers. We learned so much!

The judge wasn’t interested in handling her teeth personally in the dental inspection lol. I guess they call them maligators for a reason.

The Afghan hounds were so pretty.

This family breeds champion Rhodesian Ridgebacks.

The Borzoi was one of the most noticeable dogs there, they’re huge.

I wasn’t partial to this breed until I had a lengthy convo with the owner of these girls. They are a nicer pet than I realized, Shiba Inus do need a strong leader tho.

Lol, this handsome guy grumbled warily when I approached. Not super great with people he doesn’t know.

K-9 dogs are awesome. I read somewhere that Anatolians were trained for K-9, but didn’t work out. They ignore the arm and leg and go for the throat. Why just catch a predator when it’s so much quicker to kill it?

I found the remains of a dead raccoon out in the field. I’m sure it was great sport for my Anatolians, plus the added bonus of keeping the buzzards away.

The hair on that chow! They are dressed for winter in the Arctic circle.

I love the sighthounds, from the borzois all the way down to the tiny whippets, but their prey drive can be problematic for an owner. Their huge eyes and trim deer-like features are so appealing.
