I just wanted to let you guys know I'm going to be offline for awhile...indefinitely. I didn't want you think anything disastrous had happened to me. :p

My husband and I decided to make some drastic cuts in an effort to meet some of our financial goals. We are trying really hard to be more self-sufficient and not be in a position to get caught by the short-hairs, especially given the economy and everything going on. So we're going to start aggressively paying off a small amount of debt that we have--aside from our mortgage, we don't want to owe anybody anything right now. And we need to eventually put a new roof on the house and our goal is to pay for it in cash, along with some other household repairs and things. This has come down to cutting back wherever we can on things that aren't technically "necessities". So the $50/month cable internet bill has gotta go! I know only a few years ago I was able to live without the internet...it's going to take some adjustment, maybe even a painful withdrawal period, but I think we can do it. LOL

I'll still check my email from time to time, from my mom's house or the library. And I'll try to drop in and see what's going on here on TEG when I can. I'm going to miss you guys! I've had a great time on here and have enjoyed all the lively discussions and everybody's garden pics and everything. (I'm dying to know who'll win the pumpkin contest too!)

See you all around! :bouquet

Ah Journey...just today I was thinking about Boggy and others who used to be here when I joined. It's kind of sad not hearing from them and now you!! Maybe you can visit your mom (and her internet) everyday. ;) Hope everything works out soon and you can come back quick.

Well, I am glad to hear someone actually say the internet is 'not' a necessity! But I will miss all your wonderful posting. I hope you get some online time at your mama's as often as possible. Glad to hear nothing is actually going to be wrong so we don't worry. It's a very smart plan, and I am very proud of you. We've been doing cut backs as well, and luckily don't have any debt other then our car & mortgage. I wish you great success and maybe before time next year you'll be back on! ;)

Gee, I'm going to miss you and your blog :( . But I'm proud of you and your husband for your foresight.
Very nice display of wisdom from such youngsters!
Take care and God bless.

Oh I'll miss you journey. I'm not on here much these days as I'm so busy at work. I know what you mean about cutting out the non-essentials. I had my cell phone plan changed and cut my bill by almost half! Good luck to you!

I don't do good byes very well and am glad that this is just a so long, for now.

You are an admirable person, made more so by this note on "Going Offline for awhile."

Take care and feel free to just jump in, any old time. We will all be delighted to hear from you.
