Nyboy didn't say her voice was going. If I wanted to go to a performance of hers, I'd be concerned only with the quality in her music not the aging in her face. I figured he covered that in "well worth going".

When I meant showing her age I was not talking face but energy level. Toward the end of show you could tell she was running out of steam.

Red, I think your response was pretty good. These are entertainers that entertain. People go to see them because they are entertained. There are plenty of people that were popular singers when I was a kid still entertaining and drawing audiences. Some have had to alter their routines or take other measures, but a person's abilities don't go by a calendar. Some people are just born to entertain and they are good at it all their lives. Yes, some can lose it and should quit. Some can go on forever.

I run out of steam quicker than I used to, especially when it is in the mid to upper 90's with the dew point in the upper 70's. But that doesn't mean I'm going to quit going out to the garden and playing. I just may pick my times more judiciously and maybe alter my routines a bit. But I'm not ready for a rocking chair full time just because I have my officially old card.
