Nyboy, No the fence won't hurt larger animals, the Zap is no fun, for deer a piece of foil with peanut butter on it folded over the hot wire teaches the deer to keep away. We, the whole family has gotten a good zap. It doesn't hurt, I take that back, it's something you don't enjoy at all.

We use the same for bear in the mountains, a good Zap and they give up trying to enter. We lost two goats to bear the fence stopped them dropping by for a bite.

Had to do one bear in, after setting up the charger, we saw a bear take it on the nose, he turned around and ran.

The charger power is measured in joules, they sell some that are less than one joule, the one we have here is 15 joules. It won't injure cow, bull, horse or goats.

The little bus boxes don't work for larger animals, the jolt has to go through fur.

When i bought the country house there was a wood pile next to kitchen door for fireplace. I couldn't wait to build my first fire, I went to wood pile picked up a log and out slithered a snake. I am sure everyone on my street heard the " city boy " screaming. The next day I had gas company over to change fireplace from wood to gas. I paid a man to haul away the firewood, he thought I was crazy. Firewood is worth $$.

I would never admit I screamed because of a snake--unless I heard the rattles or cobra head....

We have a decent sized black snake around garden. Wife wants it dead. I told her to leave it alone as they eat all kinds of bad things. He is afraid of us as he crawls away when you get close.

Red people with pet snakes feed them dead mice and rats, so there no chance dinner will injure them. Pet shops sell them frozen.
What!!!! There are "red people" with pet snakes? Can white people have pet snakes too? I just had to......

Good comeback but it is Thistlebloom you want to get. Nyboy avoids using punctuation in his posts in an effort to get his words down and his ideas flowing. I'm the retired educator in the gang. I try to avoid commenting on misspellings and punctuation errors just 'cuz the people are so friendly and the info is useful.

What Nyboy said (or meant to say) was, "Red (that's me), people with pet snakes feed them dead mice or rats." Anyone can have snakes except for folks like Nyboy. He never quite got his head out of THE GARDEN, and we know how dangerous the Serpent was there.
