Wow!

They gave my mom's cousin a posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award!

Almost makes me want to cry . . .

Who was that? I forgot to watch. (I don't usually; too much crazy stuff on there. Gives me a headache.)

He's on the right :). Glenn Gould. This is from in front of the CBC studios.

I could put on a youtube of one of his performances . . . & I might come back to this post and put Leanard Cohen in for the Lab. But, I'm having a glass of wine to celebrate ;).

Isn't it interesting how we move through different stations in our lifetime? I used to LOVE the Grammy awards show. I wouldn't miss it for anything. I knew every performer by name and every song by heart. As I moved through my child rearing days and my career I would miss the show because we didn't have a TV for a long time but I missed the Grammies terribly. Now that I'm an old codger (and I do have a TV) I can't stand to watch the freak show.

But I do have a little confession to make . . . I'm typing quietly so nobody will hear this . . . I have a crush on two lovely lady singers. Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift. I just think they are adorable. Oh, heart be still.

Well, I'll tell you how out of the loop I am.... I thought Steve was writing a thread on his grandmothers.

I don't pay any attention to who's currently in the spotlight. I think that a lot of those people go on to live very sad lives. Just my opinion.

But hey Steve! Congratulations on your relative getting recognized!

Thank you!

Glenn has been gone for 30 years!

I didn't expect this and I don't know who would have. (And, I don't know anybody receiving Grammys!)

thistle and smiles, seems I am part of the club. ;) Did not even turn on the TV that night! I have no idea what movies, song and performers where honored. Would not know who most of them are anyway. LOL
