One thing we gave him was mr. potato head. He really likes it, he sat on the floor and played with it for over an hour today. Then we took him to the seed and pet store and took his picture with the gorilla and he chased the tortoise around for awhile.after we came home he played on the steps with a little drawing pad he likes. Thomas is 2 already where does it go.

He is adorable. I always heard it called the terrible twos, but I never found anything terrible about 2 year olds. That is the cutest age!

We are keeping our 3 and 5 year old grand daughters, the almost 13 year old went to my sister's house. Their parents are gone on a well deserved 6 day trip to Aruba.

Last night the two girls were in a spat over building blocks. I went to intervene.

Me: What's the matter?
5 year old: C****** won't leave me alone.
3 year old: I just want to help.
5 yo: I just want to build this myself. I don't want to play with you.
3 yo: I want to help you (blubbering and crying)
5 yo: I don't want your help.
3 yo: (sobbing) That makes me sad, and you already hurt my feelings.
Me: (trying not to laugh) to the 5 yo, Why don't you let her help and to the 3 yo, you do what she tells you to.
Minutes later: The 5 yo comes and plops in my lap complaining that her little sister took over. Then the 3 yo brings me her stack of blocks that she stuck together.

I entertained the 3 yo while the 5 yo went and built blocks to her hearts content. The 3 yo is a ring tailed tooter--for sure! That kid is tough and doesn't back down until she gets what she wants.

The day care they go to had pony pictures. The people with the ponies saddled up a brown pony, all the little kids were happy---until it was the ring tailed tooter's turn. SHE wanted the WHITE pony and threw a wall eyed fit until the pony people saddled up the white pony and took her picture. 3 years old and already He!! on wheels.

Our DD and DSIL went on their first vacation by themselves in their 14 years of marriage, for spring break. They went to Aruba. They left on Saturday, dropped the little girls off at 7 AM on their way to the airport in Dallas. I took the girls home on Thursday night and put them to bed, their parents came in around 9 PM. The almost 13 year old went to my sister's house. We had a lot of fun with the girls. On the way to take them home, they got into a squabble:

3 year old: you are a butt
5 Year old: Mamaw! She called me a butt!
Me: C******* do you want to get in trouble?
3 yo: No!
Me: Don't use words like that and don't call your sister names.
5 yo: That's a potty word!
3 yo: Papaw says it.
5 yo: That's because he's really OLD and he doesn't KNOW any better!

Me: choking on silent laughter
