Green peppers are a bust... what would you do???

Ok I have had the green pepper and some hot pepper plants sitting in my garden for months now and have not gotten one pepper off of any of the doz or so plants...I have had few flowers and none have set fruit... my tomatoes are doing wonderful tho have not ripened yet...

should I just pull the peppers and chalk it up to wet/cool weather and start some fall veggies in their place?

Can you heat them up any? If they're still smallish, do you have any wall o water type protectors you could put around them? Or dig them up into large pots and put them in a hot location in front of the house?

Otherwise, I guess it depends on which you want to bet on -- that the weather never will warm up enough to set good peppers, or that it *will*. (Long range forecasts for here would argue the former, dunno bout NH, and of course they may be wrong anyhow). So, how much you want peppers vs how much you want lettuce or spinach or whatever you'd replace them with? Everyone will have their own answer to that.

Pats right. Now, if you are into challenges and just have to get them to grow, its probably best to get them some protection and focused heat.
If you dont want a science experiment, on the other hand - probably best to plant something better suited to your environment and just buy peppers.

Give them some time.....the past few years my peppers have done the same thing but took off in the month of August and yielded huge and many peppers in Sept and Oct. Doesn't hurt to thrash them a little also....break a few of the limbs and stress them a little. My best and biggest peppers last year came from the ones my dog tried to dig up!

I'm having the same pepper growth this year.....but I've got the bushel baskets ready for later!

I have no advice for you...I gave up on peppers last year! I figured I would just buy them instead, they barely ever got any bigger than a 1/4 of what I can buy @ the Farmers Market!

I'd just leave them and see what you get...you never know

I would try a different variety of seeds/peppers. I had the same trouble with peppers last year but I was given a packet of banana peppers this year and they have taken off. They mature much more quickly that other types I have tried and we have had a wet and cool summer this year. Plus they are so mild I use them whenever recipes call for green peppers. They are just harder to stuff.
