That's a pretty nice greenhouse you have there Jack! Was that the 6x8 HF one? Hubs and I keep toying with the idea of a greenhouse... but... I just don't think we have the room here on our tiny 1/3 (if we're lucky) acre. I would feel bad after putting in a greenhouse AND a chicken coop with run for taking up my dogs yard... :/

Yes, it is the small one, but it is just fine for us. It was the best $250 I ever spent. :)

Tell him to check my blog. It is so easy a child can do it. Ava is only four and she loves it.

Jack, that sure doesn't look like my greenhouse! did you replace the arms on your vents? mine are cheap plastic.
The greenhouse came with aluminum arms with a rubber coating so that you will not injure your head if you bump them. In the real hot weather I replace them with thermal automatic vent openers. You can buy them for less than twenty dollars each if you look online. Harbor Freight used to sell them for that, but recently increased the price to thirty nine dollars. The automatic openers work great. You might consider them in your climate. I take them off in October so I can close the greenhouse just before sunset to let it heat up before evening. As you work with the greenhouse you will learn how to use it after awhile.

Right, I definitely have a lot to learn with this. I searched around for the vent openers - wow! some are very expensive. I did find some on e-bay for pretty cheap arount $20 each. What about the door on yours - do you have a hard time opening and closing it? I read to rub parafin wax on the rails - I did that and it helped a little.

No, the doors work fine. Make sure the unit is level all the way around. If the ones on Ebay look like mine they are probably fine.
