Will you have your son, log and on- and let us know that you are alright, after your surgery? It certainly would make me happy to know all was well...

I'll give my garden one last deep watering the day before I go in, then just hope mother nature will show me some mercy and send enough rain to get me through till I can get back to it.

Unfortunately my son lives almost 200 miles away over mostly mountain roads. He can't run back and forth that easily. Most of my plants have enough of a head start that I should be able to salvage at least some harvest.

I know that your plants will be fine and so will you. Both are strong and come from good stock.;) As for your clover and greens, I say when life gives you lemons make compost :tools. Then you can add it to your plants and still it is serving a really good purpose.

My broccoli and cauliflower look beautiful and my cabbage is coming right along. Collards need thinning but it can wait till I get back. I planted it mostly as rabbit food anyway. If I can get just a little cooperation from nature I can get through fine. It's kind of doubtful my tomato and pepper seedlings can make it but there is time to restart them when I get back.
