Monty and Dew I think the weather we have here eventually ends up down your way. About 2 night ago it went down to 48 overnight. Brrr. Cool enough to leave for work in a jacket. I do not like nights in the 70's and 80's (Can't sleep) so I did not mind. But, yeah, the green peppers are stalled small. :( Tomatoes though do not seem to mind and we will be putting up the 1st big batch tonight. Here we go ....

I have noticed a few things struggling with the weather this summer. Peppers, especially jalapenos and poblanos, are in bad shape, but the sweet bells and marconi aren't setting any records either. The grapes will provide a mediocre harvest. All of the Canadice red and Niagara are lost to black rot. The Concord are fairing slightly better, but jelly production will be way down. I have also lost the entire peach harvest from the big tree to scab. It's so bad now that most of the peaches are cracking. And for the first time ever, that tree is showing signs of a brown rot epidemic, more evidence of a cool wet summer. It's bad enough that I may take down the entire tree and start over. I couldn't get a dry 24-hour period to spray anything when it needed it.

Does the air seem like fall today in the Pacific N.W.? It is 84, but seems like fall for some reason. Several people have told me they think we will have an early winter or a hard winter. What do others think?

Gardening with rabbits, I think it's going to be a nasty winter. I'm not looking forward to the cold and snow!!!! I think the kids will be missing a few days of school this year. :( Which means a few r/o's for work....if I get the job.
