YEARS and YEARS ago we used to use Mr. Christals products.
The shampoos were coconut oil base and were very gentle. And the flea products were citrus based. I think they've gone out of business because I can't find them ANYWHERE.
Can you recommend something similar? OR - do you happen to know where I can find Mr. Christals???

I loved Mr Christals they even used my chow star in their print ads. That was long ago !! What kind of shampoo do you want ? Flea, gentle cleaning, dry skin, medicated ? I loved the way my hands felt after washing a dog in Mr Christals medicated sshampoo !!

I have a mix who looks like a border collie and another who is a lab. Both spend all day out in the yard and often come in STINKING. Both are - lately - doing a lot of foot & leg licking. So, something very gentle for frequent baths (if just legs and belly on muddy days).

Since you're here NYboy, can you recommend a brush for a BMD? I'm currently using an ancient pin brush and I just picked up a slicker brush. They seem to be adequate, but her coat is so dense, it doesn't feel like I'm getting down to her skin. Maybe I just need to do her in sections and part her coat as I go? That's gonna slow things down...

Pin brush saves the hair important on a showdog. You want a brush that will remove the dead hair, slicker is the best brush for this. Problem is people don't realize how long it really takes to brush out a dog. If your brushing for 10 20 minutes your doing a bad job. A large hairy dog takes about 2 hours to completely brush out. I have a male and female Mt dog in kennel now will post photos later.
