I purchased a new camera so, now that I know how to post photos, I'm gonna give it a try more often.

I'd show my disastrous sweet corn, but I'm hoping for a few seeds to develop for next year's planting. Don't want to risk it. So, here's my colored corn. Gypsy already has plans for baking corn bread with it.

Nice looking corn Smart. I have great sweet corn. The only problem I had was on my first crop. The seed was eaten from the ground. I blamed a chipmunk. I think my cats blamed him too as he disappeared. I would not worry about your corn being pollinated by field corn in an earlier crop. I think the cross would only be apparent if you saved the seed to grow the next year.

Oh Oh Oh! Red, what camera did you buy?
I'm still struggeling with purchasing a new camera. I just can't seem to drag myself to spending as much on a camera as I spend on a week's worth of groceries... Even when I tell myself that I'll probably enjoy the camera more.

Pretty corn, by the way. I'd be hard pressed to grind it up. Those colored ears always look like they're covered in little jewels to me.

Except for the occasional grandchild, most of my camera work is in the gardens. Either I didn't buy an expensive one - it's a Nikon CoolPix - or my grocery bill is a lot higher than yours. With everything it ran just over $200. My groceries run a bit higher than that. Of course I manage to get to the store every other week and the grands have lots of requests for treats, snacks, and munchies. . . then there are the snacks for their dad who rummages through my pantry more often than they do.

Edited to add: That photo of a photo of a camera from the computer looks terrible. It is NOT an example of the camera's ability, but that of its owner.

I can't tell you what tickle I got out of that - the blury picture of the wonderful new camera. hehehehehe :)
If my groceries come anywhere near $200, I'm either having a really bad week or stocking up on all the staples.
I was recently allowed back in the safety program at work (long story, don't ask) and I get 20points each month. If I can hold out long enough, there are a BUNCH of nice cameras in the 100-200pt range at the 'company store'. Not sure I can wait that long.... So much happened this Summer and I didn't get pictures of any of it. :/
