Speaking of pods, we went out to the field to discover dried, skeletonized tomatillos. They are gorgeous. I'm going to make some into Christmas ornaments. I'll try and get some pictures.

I sure am hoping you'll tell us how you care for them through the cool winter months.

All I did was put the potted pepper plants in my storage room. It is a very nice double red brick room off the carport with access to the backyard. When it gets below 35 at night, I put them in there and they seem to do ok. But, at 17 degrees, even with being in the storage room they lost a few leaves.

I should have take a photo of the plants before I picked all the peppers off. They had even less leaves, but the fruit was bright red. Looked interesting with almost no leaves and bright red fruits.

Yesterday I noticed my Goji Berry plant is getting leaf buds!! I was afraid it had died with the severe cold.

This batch I am drying. Then I will put them in my Vitamix and make a powder
for use in different recipes

The powder lasts for AGES... I have some from 2003 that is still as hot as ever!

My husband saved a few to make his "World Famous" Mushroom relish.

He takes mushrooms, onion, and a few peppers. Grills them til they are
a bit blackened under the broiler. Then uses a chopping jar to finely mince
all of it together. And as a final touch uses a bit of Thai Fish Sauce.
This relish is great with eggs, like added to an omlette, or with meats to
spice it up a bit.

I also make a pepper jelly sometimes. It is very nice with cream cheese
on a cracker. And it is a very pretty color!

Do you find that winter harvested Peppers are a little less hot than summer harvested?
