last Wednesday got a call from my old employer asking for a meeting, it seems that the person who took over maintenance was not doing it...

went down on friday and we had a very long talk, we both pointed out our problems and solved them.
lets face it when i left was seriously burned out and i'm sure with dad passing did not help either, with taking the summer off i'm in a much better frame of mind..

he asked what would it take for me to come back, he agreed to 7 of 8 requests he even wrote them down and signed it..wow
so on oct 1st will be going back for a meeting with him and all the other managers there so everyone will know whats what. will start back the following week....

WHAT!? I'm seriously amazed you are going back to the same company! At the same time I can't wait to read about all the things that went wrong, I've really missed reading about it. :hide
Good luck with cleaning up the mess, i'm guessing you've got your work cut out those first months...

Major - I'm in your camp. I worked at Togo's Eatery for 14 years. Then the Dunkin Donuts company bought out the founder, and laid all of us off on the West Coast. I was graciously given a year's severance. Fast forward less than a year, and Dunkin wants me back. I signed a contract for 6 month severance if they laid me off again, and I got a nice raise and a car allowance. I went back for two or so years. I did have to fly to Boston every six weeks, but I loved my job. Then a new management team laid me off.

I dream every week or so of Togo's...thats how much I loved that job. You're in the same position. Go for it!

Togos was the sub shop up north that we liked way back in the 80's - there was also a pizza place that delivered ice-cream. those were the golden years for us there. when those places closed we were a bit forlorn... i mean, ice-cream, delivered... !!!!!
