Sorry, I'm late. Been spring breaking. The flower is last month's but still pretty. Lot's more now. Wish I'd taken some of the bluebonnets along the highway. Gorgeous!

The turkeys are for @flowerbug - love is in the air! Gobble gobble!

Bashful wouldn't pose for me. I think this was the best shot. All in velvet, too!

Oh, and the Redbud trees! Dazzling displays distinctly and decidedly determined to denounce winter. Had a valley of color over around San Antonio. Nice trip, although short like all that you enjoy.

Great pictures @RUNuts !

I'm confused though, what are those deer type creatures? Their tails seem all wrong for elk, or even muleys or whitetails....and those are some massive antlers!
And they are in velvet in the spring?

A little help here please!

From wiki,
As the scimitar oryx is reintroduced in the wild successfully, the Père David's deer will be the only mammal that is now extinct in the wild.

The Père David's deer (Elaphurus davidianus), also known as the milu (Chinese: 鹿; pinyin: mílù) or elaphure, is a species of deer that are mostly found in captivity. This semiaquaticanimal prefers marshland, and is native to the subtropics of China. It grazes mainly on grassand aquatic plants.

Guess who was late dropping his antlers this year.
