Thanks for all of the birthday wishes everyone! We did drop the kids off with Nana, but decided to go fishing instead of a movie. It was just too nice of a day to be indoors. Healthy was not on the menu for dinner, ha. We went out for Chinese, just happened to run into my dad there and he picked up our tab which I thought was sweet. The kids were mad that we had Chinese without them, LOL.
Wanted to show all you horse people the cake I made for my 6-year-old horse-lovin' niece, my birthday buddy. Her birthday is the week before mine.
DH and the girls made me a chocolate cake last night. Turned out great except for the big hole in the corner where Savannah got a handful as it was cooling. DH stuffed it full of icing to make it look nice. They left the dishes for me to do, but hey, it's the thought that counts, right? It was a nice day. I'm certainly blessed!

Fishing sounds way better than a movie! Glad you had such a great birthday, and that's a great cake you made for your niece.
I had to laugh about Savannah sampling your cake. Every kitchen needs a taste tester right?
My very favorite birthday cake was the one mom made me with a small model horse rearing on the top. My sister and I always shared birthday parties and mom made her a cake with a silly doll on top. Mine was the clear winner.
