Hardening off

I have some flowers planted in my "sunroom". This room is south south/west facing and is mostly windows. It technically is not heated although the chicken brooder light does put off heat and of course, on a sunny day it is warm in there. Do my lil plants still need hardened off? They are on the windowsills.

Yes.

They should be progressively exposed to sunlight that is not filtered thru glass and to air movement.

Perhaps, they are already accustomed to a range of temperatures but that isn't quite enough.

Absolutely! The strong sun and the wind will kill them in a matter of hours... Now, you need to be patient and bring them in and out, quite a few times...Happy Gardening!

Thank you both....I didn't even think of the wind exposure and "pure" sunlight issue. I was wondering why articles said filtered sunlight, never knew what that meant! Thanks

Yes . Hardening off is not just about the cold. The bright sun could scald them and the wind can break them. Maybe set a fan on them.
