Thistle, let's not talk about how bad the garden looks this time if year, unless you want to. Mine's about as bad as it ever gets but it's only good a couple of times a year. Then it rains and I start over.

Take as much time as you need. Our priorities change and sometimes we just have other things to do. Even when I'm not on a trip I'll often come on here and not have anything to say for days at a time. I still spend too much time on the computer, just not posting. It can be addicting, if you can break away more power to you. But still check in occasionally. Otherwise Bay might pull a prank on you.

We hope you hang around some as your advice and humor would be greatly missed if you just signed off! (Yes I know how much time a day gets wasted on the computer) :caf That said, I gotta run.. the wash is not doing itself ... or the groceries, banking, mending, raking & weekend chores! See you soon :fl

Exactly. I canned a bunch of apple jelly and apple butter yesterday and need to go wash the jars and let them dry before I put them away. Then I need to go dig up some burdock root. A friend wants to start her own patch of burdock as she uses it medicinally. Who would have ever thought somebody would want to start a burdock patch. Anyway, I've promised some roots this afternoon, some to plant and some for her to use. it's a biennial so should come back next year. Then I need to get some parsley or thyme in the dehydrator. And here I sit on the computer.

Well, I'm off. See you soon.

How thoughtful of you @majorcatfish Thanks for caring. :hugs

Yes, I did fly out to see my sister. Had a wonderful time with her and her family. Really need to try to make that happen more often.

I've been evaluating where my time is budgeted and working on making some life changes and developing better habits.
Work has been occupying me a lot. Though I have far fewer clients than I did when I started this business 10 seasons ago, the properties are bigger and more manicured. I just added another weekly on to my list.
It's important to be diligent and on my game with them. The people who make it possible for me to buy hay, and other little necessities, need to be kept happy. :)

And of course the consumer of all that hay is where a lot of my time budget is going.
I'm still amazed that I am once again riding. It's a passion that I thought was only something to look back on. I find that my petrified brain is retrieving "lost" information, and my skills and confidence are returning. It's exciting to me to have a good horse partner to spend this season of my life with.

I also have many winter projects that I have put off for the last few years. Most of these involve decluttering, reorganizing and paint. Lots of paint, haha.
This winter I also need to plan out a purposeful curriculum for the Summer Kids garden class if I'm going to continue in that direction.
I don't want it to be busy work or babysitting, but truly useful as well as enjoyable for all of us.

TEG has been a part of my life for nearly 6 years, and I intend to continue (sorry to some of you!).
However I am apparently so weak willed that I am unable to withstand the sucking vortex of internet distractions and find it hard to pull myself away. So I've been avoiding it.

If it wasn't for having a gardening business I might be tempted to toss gardening and growing things aside for the joy of riding.
If you saw my yard you might think I have already done this!
It's shameful...
Well, you sure have a lot of plans. I hate reorganizing but, I am putting some effort into it. It is not with my usual fervor but I am hoping that will click. I am riding more now also, Thistle. My gardening is winding down, I only have 1 Grandson regularly, with the 5 year old entering kindergarten. He loves my Rascal so we both are spending more time with my lonely boy. He loves to brush him.

Glad you went and had a good time. I'm more glad that you're back! I wouldn't worry about your yard chores, snow will come soon and cover it up anyway. There are moosies scrolling across the top of the page....I gotta go see them...
