All of my orders have arrived, as of this week.

Johnny's & Fedco from Maine, Jungs from Wisconsin, Stokes from upstate New York (they are really in Ontario ;)), I've even got my things from Jordan Seed in Woodbury, Minnesota. And, then there are those outfits from other parts of the country like Florida .

The mailman calls us his "Big Gardeners" but I'm happy he doesn't see the UPS guy drop the boxes at the door and race away in a cloud of diesel. I mean, those garden catalogs and "promising" little boxes of seed should keep the mailman from going nutz delivering junk mail door to door every day.

Seed potatoes and onion sets will come from the garden center . . . I'll be camping in their aisles to make sure that I don't miss the best selection of spuds! The garden center that I frequent has a better selection of stuff this year than I have EVER seen before. Used to be discouraging to find a choice of only 1 variety of seed from 6 different companies on their racks. Diversity Rules !!!

I ordered very early this year and everything I wanted was in stock and I recieved all of my orders over a month ago.

I bought around 50 or so heirloom seed packets and a few hybrids.
The only thing I am waiting on to be delivered is the seed potatos and onion plants.
I still have a bunch of seeds left over from last year that I am going to try and use up this year.

I forgot! I forgot about the Eureka cucumber seeds I ordered from Ebay. It's a nice small # (only 25 seeds, so that should be enough for this year, and next year . . . ) and they only shipped them (in theory) today, so I probably won't get them until next week sometime.

Those are the only outstanding seeds, though like I said, I haven't bought any actual plants yet.

I'm keeping track of my costs, though!

So far, $15 for seeds, $27 for the starter kit and $20 for the new bulb and chains and all that to get the grow light up and running. It'll be $40 for the peppers and tomato plants, $18 for the strawberry plants, and about $50 for the cages and stakes and stuff (I need new fencing!).

Let's see . . . wow. I'll actually be *under* budget this year! Yay! And I might be able to sell off some of the extra strawberry and pepper and basil plants that I started (I suspect I started way too many), so that will help too.

Just got all of my seeds earlier this week, that I've ordered.

Although, we have a few more seeds from a collaborative we're a part of that exchanges seeds for testing. Those will arrive by next week and we'll be done!

TOO TRUE--I'm copying Vfem, and carrying around baggies while I garden to grab seeds. :D Isn't that what your jean's pockets are made for?!? :p
Too funny to remembered that!

I've made it this year without buying ANY seed. I've traded everything. So I know I'm done, my budget won't allow for seeds this time around.

That's what friends are for. ;)

Ps. - Everyone should be tracking cost for the Community Garden Project!!! Hint Hint!!!

The BIG question here is, "Is everyone keeping track of the cost?" :D
NO!!!!.....DON'T HIT ME!!!!! :hide
I myself am trying to save money by using those coupons that come with the catalogs. Ebay also looks to have good deals on things that would be way too expensive for me to spend.
