I actually got my new license one time with a green square where my photo should've been. It said VALID WITHOUT PHOTO. And guess what? NOBODY would accept it for ID. I always carried my old expired license and flopped both of them out with the explanation, I broke their camera.

I carry an old expired drivers license to use just as an ID.
A few months ago I used it and the girl told me that it was an expired license, "yes but all the info is correct"
She hesitated so I asked her if she wanted to write me a ticket or cash my check?
She finally cashed my check with that ID!!!!

I had to have a new photo taken when I renewed, for some reason I thought they just used photo from old license. I rolled out of bed threw on a hat and left home. If I knew I had to be photographed, would have tried hardier to look better. When the lady at DMV showed me the photo I must have made a face, because she sad she was allowed to take 2 photos did I want to try for better one. Not unless you have a plastic surgeon behind counter was my reply.

I always marvel at the fact that the people at DMV don't question the weight on your license. Mine still showed the weight I was when I got my first license at 16. I finally insisted they change it to something more realistic about 10 years ago.

Oh, and they don't let us keep our expired license here. Too bad. My last one was a darn good photo. :(

I lived in PA for 9 years, moved to MN, for 11 years & moved back to PA. When I applied for a driver's license, they pulled up my old PA DL number & gave it to me again.

In my previous marriage, I lived in TX for 6 years. When my current husband & I moved to TX, I figured they would just give me my old DL number. OOOOH NOOOO!

They not only wouldn't give me my old number, I had to go back THREE times, because they kept telling me I needed more proof, that I am who I say I am! In the end I had to come up with SIX documents, to prove I am who I say I am. Oh, and my former TX DL was not one of them. Grrrrr!

THEN, I found out someone coming over the border, with a green card, only needs to present one form of ID, to get a TX DL. Huh??? What's wrong with this picture??? I'm an American Citizen, with a valid DL (with a photo), from another state, and I need SIX forms of ID??? :th

I had to renew my DL this month, at 61, in person. Ugh. I haven't been sick for over 2 years and don't ya know, DH came home with a cold and passed it on to me. Anyway, the day I went in, I felt the worst of the cold. I looked horrible. They took my pic anyway. And yea, they still think I weigh 120. Hahahaha! But at least I haven't shrunk!!
