hi hpq. I've joined while you were gone. gosh, you're a busy one. you had me drooling over the rhubarb jam, pie, and crisp. yum!
the corn gluten meal is basically a fertilizer. it has to be applied at a specific window of time. when the weed seeds are germinating the fertilizer causes them to burst from too much nitrogen & thus the weed seeds are no more (in theory). I think it is a product good for some gardeners that are organized enough to make sure they hit that window. I am a gardener from the other camp, so it is not the best product for me.
