It is SO HELPFUL to know your general location when you are asking questions. You are 2 zones south of me. I think some birds ate your local purple columbine and dropped seeds on my property. Couldn't grow it from seed, but it has nicely spread around the east front and north of my house and is difficult to kill.

Had to look that one up. Pretty flower. I've never saw that here. I thought you were going to mean Purple Purslane. It inhabits my garden and no matter what I do it comes back.
